Artist's comment:
"What should I do when I'm not drawing MerMay entries? How 'bout some doodles showcasing Vince's relationships with the starting party, using a temperamental pencil brush? That shouldn't take too long!" Several days later...

* Dante: The love of Vince's life, his light in the darkness, and all that good stuff. Before Dante (and Angelus) came along, Vince was in a serious emotional slump; his compassion gave Vince the strength to start really living again, not just survive. He admires Dante's emotional fortitude and capacity for kindness even after all the misery that life has dumped on him; not coincidentally, these are the same traits in Vince that Dante finds commendable.

* Enzo: They were really close in college, being each other's only real friend throughout, but differing opinions on what do to do about LADNAH post-escape drove a wedge between them--and it would've gotten much worse if Enzo had actually been able to hurt Dante like she wanted before being talked down. Even when she joins the group, things are tense for a while between her and Vince; that old friendship is still there, just buried under layers of uncertainty.

* Angelus: Vince doesn't really know what to think of Angelus at first--on the surface, the man's all fluff and no edge. Sure, Dante likes him well enough, but Vince needs a little more than that, especially if Angelus is so eager to get to know him better. Eventually, though, Vince learns to appreciate him for who he is, especially whenever there's things Vince needs to talk about that Dante can't help him with as much.

* Thema: She's always been there for Vince ever since she realized that his problems went deeper than just being kinda morose, and he appreciates that. Thema may not be as cuddly as Dante or as thorough as Pavo, but sometimes Vince just wants someone who'll quietly listen as he tries to explain what's eating him this week. He does his best to return the favour--and also keep an eye out for Thema, as she's a total pacifist like Angelus.

* Pavo: Sure, the man talks a lot, and sometimes his concern for Vince can feel a little overbearing. But Pavo does genuinely care for Vince, and that's not something Vince can just dismiss out-of-hand. If anything, without Pavo's frequent mother-henning, Vince would forget to take care of himself a lot more often.

* Jessamine: Everyone else, Vince gets along with or can at least co-exist with. Jessamine likes getting a rise out of people, and it so happens that Vince's buttons are the easiest to press. He doesn't outright hate her or anything, but there are times when Vince contemplates lashing her to the roof of the RV (androids can handle that no problem, right?). He's got only so much patience and energy for her kind of personality, which reminds him of himself when he was an older teenager.
